Frog Rescues
My Pet Frog
Counter
I started a mission a while ago to educate others on the proper care of
frogs. Frogs are no different than any other creature. They deserve care,
attention and love.  Unfortunately, even those who sells frogs sometimes
have no idea of what the proper care consists of. This often leads to
mis-informed consumers, who in turn cannot provide the proper care for
their pet; and in turn , the pet suffers and dies.

I have often gone into well-known pet stores and have seen ailing frogs.
They are placed into tanks with fish, not given the appropriate food, and
often starve to death. Even when I have brought this to the store
employees attention, they did not seem to be concerned. That's when I
made a decision. A decision to rescue all frogs that I knew would not
survive if they remained in the store. Don't get me wrong, not all of the
aquatic frogs look ill, but at times, I will see several malnourished frogs,
which are nothing but skin and bones. Aquatic frogs do NOT belong in
tanks with fish.

These stores know me now. They know I will inspect the frog tanks, and
take home 1 or 2 if necessary. It must be the animal lover in me that
cannot just walk away knowing that they probably won't survive; knowing
that I could make a difference, even if it is just a little frog.

Someone's got to care.

I even bring in  flyers for the stores to display for their customers, right on
the frog tanks.

Sometimes I can't save a frog, like the story of Baby Bernadette, I took her
home, but she was too ill to survive. Then there are my 2 success stories, I
brought them home in May 2007, skin and bones, I couldn't leave them
in that store. I am happy to say that they are now fat & healthy, and both
boys! See their pics below!
