Baby Bernadette. I rescued
her from a well-known pet
store chain. She was so
sick, just skin & bones.
Bernie ate welI, but I
couldn't save her. Bernie
died the next day. This
incident prompted me to
start my mission.
My Pet Frog
My website has become an intense labor of love. It is expanded at a
progressive rate to bring you a wealth of information. I have now taken
another avenue with the rescuing and re-homing of frogs. I will rescue
a frog if it is in danger. I will take in a frog if a person can no longer
care for it. I will adopt frogs into homes only with people who are
educated in their care.

There is a great need for awareness for these animals.
I am finding through various forums that lack of knowledge is
widespread. This can be avoided if everyone does their part in
educating others. Knowledge is power.

In order to bring information to the public, I currently have my site
posted in several pet shops within my area. There are members of my
group, 'My Pet Frog'  who are also taking it upon themselves to directly
educate pet store employees. This is an awesome thing!

It is disturbing to me that employees of a pet shop often do not know the
proper care of frogs, and
often give customers the wrong advice. Frogs
are also often housed improperly in the store as well.  Employees need
to be properly educated on the care of frogs, and customers purchasing
them need to be properly advised on their care before leaving the store!

I have contacted several Companies, offering them a free flyer, in which
I would email to them. Unfortunately a couple of major players in the
industry were not interested.  Their concern was the cost of printing
out the flyers! This proves that money is more important.  They have no
problem selling these frogs, but are NOT interested in educating their
customers! This should be a crime! Surprisingly enough, a couple of
local shops(one a major chain) were interested.

All I a asked them to do is distribute a flyer to each person that buys a
tadpole or frog*
This would ensure the proper care of the frog.

Any company that participates in this campaign will be recognized on
my site*

What I am working on now is spreading the word of proper frog care. I
would like you to do your part in educating another person, whether it
be a friend who has a frog, a pet store employee, etc. Contact me via
email, and give me the name of who you educated today! Let's spread
the knowledge and help stop the deaths of innocent frogs!

Lets take this seriously, because frogs need love too!

If you would like to make a donation towards the cause, feel free to donate
any amount. I prepare flyers & signs for pet stores, and rescue frogs when
needed. I have built & maintained this site for over 2 years, which incurs a
monthly cost.

Thank you to all the frog lovers, because frogs are pets too!
